History - Dundry Primary School

In school we will, through the effective teaching and learning of the knowledge, skills and understanding of history, help all children to develop an understanding of time, place, people and events. We will use the National Curriculum History Guidelines as a basis for our scheme of work and we will make meaningful links across other subjects in the National Curriculum. Through our teaching of history, pupils consider how the past influences the present, what past societies were like, how these societies organised their politics, and what beliefs and cultures influenced people's actions. As they do this, children develop a chronological framework for their knowledge of significant events and people. Our aim is to ignite a curiosity to learn about the past that will help children understand who they are and how their environment and the world has changed over time.

Throughout the children's topics, the teachers will provide opportunities for the children to use the outdoor learning facilities and the world around them to deepen their learning.

EYFS Year A & B
